Training built on European benchmarks — not local club standards.

Technical drills twice a day. Soccer-specific fitness with periodisation. Tactical work on real match situations. Film study. In Spain it has a name: metodología. It is what we teach.

The method

What every European club has, and almost no American academy does.

Every professional club in Spain has a coach whose sole job is to design and teach — weekly, monthly, seasonally — the array of training that turns a promising player into a professional. The concept is called metodología. Literally, methodology. In practice, an assortment of principles, philosophies and methods for developing a player and preparing her to win.

Our technical director in Spain holds the UEFA Pro licence and learned this system from inside it. Our players train alongside aspiring professionals from the day they arrive — because that is how it is done in Europe, and because it is how our first trainee was developed from the age of fourteen.

What a session contains

Five things, every week.

Technical mastery

Intensive technical drills, twice daily. First touch, turning at speed, shielding, finishing under pressure — repetition to a European standard.

Soccer-specific fitness

Aerobic and anaerobic work with periodisation, so she peaks when the season demands it rather than when the calendar happens to allow.

Tactical training

Real match situations — beating a 1v1, overloads at 2v1 and 3v2, movement off the ball, reading the game at speed.

Strength

Off-season, pre-season and in-season strength work, built around the demands of a professional schedule.

Film study

Extensive analysis of her own play against professional benchmarks — the part American development almost never includes.

Combines & camps

The Pro-Soccer Combine: four days, filmed, delivered to European clubs.

Coached by Fran Escuin, UEFA Pro licence. Held at the O.R.T.A. Performance Center in Springfield, Virginia.
